When I first saw Mamazing stroller available, I thought it was just another “too good to be true” copycat. Yet, the stroller proved me wrong and it’s truly awesome.
In my opinion, along with Zoe Traveler stroller, Mamazing is the best budget travel stroller on the market. While it doesn’t have the same amount of accessories as Babyzen, Joolz, or Bugaboo, it works as expected.
Are there are cons of Mamazing stroller, or things to take into consideration? Let’s take a look!
Pros & Cons of Mamazing Stroller Review
Age Range – 6 months to 50 pounds (22kg)
Stroller Weight – 11.5 pounds (5.2 kg)
Folded Size – 20.5 (19 without a bumper bar) x 18.5 x 11 inches (52 x 46 x 20cm)
Maneuverability & Storage
Mamazing stroller is made of carbon fiber, which is why it’s lightweight but doesn’t look or feel cheap and flimsy. It’s pretty durable, so you don’t need to be afraid of any dents.
This travel stroller is sturdy and doesn’t tip backward with a bit of pressure from a bag.
It’s the only stroller on the US market that has a parental safety strap included. All strollers must have it in Australia (known for the strictest safety regulations when it comes to strollers and car seats), so I was positively surprised about this inclusion.
The brake system is different than on most strollers. You need to press the right wheel (marked with red) to lock it. To unlock the brake, you need to press the left wheel pedal (marked with green). It takes a bit to get used to, but works as expected.
There’s also a little parental pocket on the back of the seat, right under the parental handle, which is a must for me to store random trinkets, spare diaper or pacifier.
Seat Design
The bumper bar on the seat comes included and it’s perfectly sized for a child to hold onto comfortably (on some strollers like Uppababy Minu or Cybex Libelle) the bar is too short and uncomfortable for a child to hold onto.
The seat is decently padded and the footrest is sturdy, it doesn’t sink in the middle like some of them.
One concern of mine is the canopy, as you can extend it, but then one part of it is mesh (same way it works on Bugaboo Butterfly). If it’s sunny you might need to carry a lightweight cloth to cover the mesh to make it darker for the child.
You can easily adjust the recline one handedly, but you need both hands to pull it up. Recline is multi-positioned, just pull the button on the strap to the desired depth. It’s just not close to flat, but it’s enough for a child to rest comfortably.
You can even unzip the back for ventilation as there’s a secondary in-built mesh panel on the back of the seat.
Fold & Unfold
The fold is truly one-handed and unfolds easily one handedly as well. The carry strap is already built-in and comfortable enough to throw a stroller on your shoulder.
Mamazing Stroller Review: Verdict & Final Thoughts
I honestly have zero complaints about this stroller, which is rare for me to say after testing so many strollers on the market. Could the harness be easier to adjust? Yes, but you’ll only struggle with it once.
Mamazing is a small and mighty stroller for those who don’t want to splurge on a more well-known by airlines luxury travel stroller.
FYI, the Larktale Chit Chat Plus comes with parental safety strap. It’s been available in the US for years.
Larktale is an Australian brand so that would make sense.
Good point! I love Larktale wagon, but Chit Chat stroller sadly missed the mark with a tiny seat :/
Are you sure about the measurements you published when the stroller is folded?
Folded Size – 18.9 x 12.6 x 7.9 inches (48 x 32 x 20cm)
In the amazon link you shared, and also on their website, it is stated way differently:
Folded Size – H20.6 x W18.5 x D11 inch
I’m asking because I like the stroller but this difference in dimensions makes a big difference on whether it will be accepted on certain airlines or not…
Sorry about the confusion, I just edited the dimensions – the 20.5 is with the bumper bar when folded. You can remove the bar and that’s when it will fit in the overhead 🙂
I have a really tall 1 year old (33 inches already and over 99% for height). How tall is the seat height and is there more space under the canopy?
Is your child barely 1 or almost 2? In these photos posted my child was about 37″ and he fit so you should be fine 🙂
How does it compare to the Zoe Traveler for you? I’m torn between these two options. Which one has a smaller folded footprint?
Here’s the Zoe Traveler review https://expeditionparenthood.com/zoe-tour-vs-zoe-traveler-stroller/. I can say honestly that a child who’s 42″ tall can still fit into Zoe without any issues. Zoe is a tiny bit smaller in fold.
Hi! I was wondering if this buggy is available in Canada? I don’t see it available in Europe, and hoping I can buy a travel stroller once in Canada, which is our next holidays destination.
Also, was that a buggy you purchased yourself or you have been asked to review?
Purchased myself, as always 🙂 Sadly, I don’t see it on Amazon Canada. There might be a way to get it through US Amazon, but I’m honestly not sure.
Thank you for the review, Anna!
I’m considering this stroller because it seems to offer good value compared to other options on the market. Do you think it would be a good choice among the budget options you’ve tried? I ask because I didn’t see it included in your more recent post, “Best Tried and Tested Travel Strollers.” Would you rank the Mamazing among the best budget options, or do you prefer the ones you selected there?
Hi! I did include Mamazing in the budget post 🙂 The only thing is that Mamazing stroller would be harder to resell after your child grows out of it, because it’s not a well-known brand.
Hi Anna! How does the seat back height on this stroller compare to that of Joolz aer, bugaboo butterfly, or Yoyo? Thank you!
It’s a bit lower than Joolz or Bugaboo, sort of like Yoyo 2 (since the newest model has much higher backrest).
I live in a big city and need a travel stroller for getting around on the subway— do you think the mamazing would work for everyday use? Does it handle rough sidewalks well?
I honestly think it could, but it depends on what do you expect from a stroller. A full size stroller would be best for grocery runs in the city because of the bigger basket capacity, but for anything else it can definitely work.
What about the wheels around European cities. I have a colugo but trying to decide if I need one with better wheels. It’s not the easiest to maneuver on roads.
Depends on the city and area – old towns covered in cobblestones will make a difference between modern sidewalks, even in the same city. Colugo should last though!
Do you think this Mamazing stroller would work as a second stroller. And if not, the Zoe Traveller? Looking for a compact, one-handed folding stroller for NYC subway rides. It needs to be lighter than the Minu which is my primary stroller.
I have a large for his age nearly 3-year-old, the Minu has become to bulky to manage on the public transportation stairs.
I’ve ruled out other popular options:
-Babyzen YOYO: Two-step fold is inconvenient.
-Joolz Aer: Canopy is too short for my tall toddler.
-Bugaboo Butterfly: Too expensive with the additional cost of accessories. And weighs almost the same as the Minu.
Which is better for my needs: Mamazing or Zoe Traveler? Or is there another option I should consider?
I always find Minu to be a weird model, because it’s not full size but also bulky and with an extremely awkward bumper bar. I have to ask: what do you mean by the canopy is too short on Joolz? How tall is your child exactly? Because if the canopy on Joolz is too short, then no stroller will work but I just stuffed my 5.5 year old into Joolz the other day and he still fits (he’s 45″ tall). My also tall almost 4 year old who’s currently 42.5″ fits just fine.
